2014 was a busy year for the choir, the final event taking place on December 18th in Much Wenlock with singing to inaugurate the start of late night shopping. The year saw some some memorable highlights; in June there was a trip to Tyne & Wear for a joint concert with Felling Male Voice Choir, followed by a very successful concert at Much Wenlock Holy Trinity Church, when the choir was accompanied by soprano Helen Pickett .
Also amongst the highlights was a visit to Macclesfield in August and a major fundraising event at The Edge in November, when the choirs special guest Keith Nichols treated the audience and choir to a master class in classical jazz piano.
2014 was a year that also saw a number of new choristers join the choir and it was very pleasing to welcome them; it would be good to see more new choristers in 2015 – if you enjoy singing why not give it a try and pop along to one of the rehearsals at the William Brookes School. (Tuesday evenings 7.30pm, first practice 6th Jan)
The choir wishes to thank the townspeople of Much Wenlock and all its loyal patrons and supporters for turning out to the concerts and events over the last year. As many of you will know the choir is a registered charity, and performances have helped to raise thousands of pounds for a wide variety of charitable causes.
The choirs committee is busy planning events for 2015, not least of which will be a trip to the Lake District in June; the choir is also looking forward to a return visit to Much Wenlock by the Felling Male Voice Choir later in the year. See the events page on this site for more information on forthcoming concerts, or ring the secretary Harry King on 07852 991910.
