The choir were busy last month rehearsing for a performance at All Saints Church in Broseley on Saturday 18th April; proceeds from the concert helped to fund restoration of the church, described as one of the finest early Victorian churches in the county.
The church is currently planning to restore a Kempe stained glass window with the help of Heritage grants. Charles Eamer Kempe (1837-1907) was one of the greatest Victorian stained glass artists and the window, which covers 89 square feet, has been lost to public view since 1979. It dominated the main aisle of the church and may be unique, as it is thought to contain the double monogram of the Kempe works.
