Shipton Delight

The choir performed at Shipton Village Hall on Saturday 23rd November at the invitation of former member John Bushell, raising much needed funds for Easthope Church. The Barbershop group ‘Eight in a Bar’ also supported the event and the choirs accompanist David Fisher treated the audience to solo piano pieces from Beethoven and Mozart. The compere David Strefford helped the event along with a variety of jokes and comments and the whole evening was a great success.

This was the choirs second outing this month as last weekend a joint concert was held at Jackfield Church with the brass band ‘Randon Brass’, a group also directed by the choirs talented Musical Director Paul Kelly. There are more events scheduled for December including a short performance to celebrate the opening of the new BMW Showroom at Harlescott, Shrewsbury on December 11th. See the events page on this site for further details.

The choir have held several ‘open rehearsals’ in recent months and more are planned for 2014 in a determined push to try and attract new members, it is pleasing that so far four singers have joined but more are needed. The choir rehearses at 7,30pm on Tuesday evenings at the William Brookes School, Much Wenlock – if you enjoy singing why not come along and sit in on one?
