Book the choir

Every year we help to raise money for national and local charities and perform in support of numerous local organisations, in venues ranging from churches to village halls and theatres. More than £50,000 has been generated over recent years for charitable causes, from concerts in which the choir has participated. For each concert we provide the conductor, a compere, accompanist and of course our choristers, bringing along our own electronic keyboard in the absence of a well tuned piano at the venue.

Your only commitment would be to provide the venue and, desirably, light refreshments, generate some publicity and make the ticket and programme sales.

Most concerts have ticket prices ranging from £5 to £10, dependant on the type of event or venue, this would mean that if 150 -200 people attended at a price of £8.00 per head, £1200 -£1600 could be taken in ticket sales alone, extra income being raised from programmes, refreshments and raffles. The choir always bring a following of partners and patrons to our concerts, who would pay negotiated concessionary rates, further boosting the ticket sales.

For less ambitious ventures a minimum paying audience of 50 -60 people would be ideal, not only to cover costs, but to make the event worthwhile for all concerned. An enthusiastic audience encourages the choir to deliver its best!

The choir charge a standard fee for booking and travelling expenses may be negotiable dependant on circumstances. We may ask for a percentage of the revenue from ticket sales but will consider charging a lower fee in support of events where we have a special affinity with the cause or organisation. We are always happy to discuss how your requirements might be met – for fund raising to be a success forward planning is vital.

“I attended a wedding where you performed, and really enjoyed your performance that I brought your CD, Spirit of the edge. I currently listen to the music at school, as I’m a primary school teacher, during our relaxation session after lunch time break. The children have said how much they Love the music and were surprised you were local men. I wanted to let you know.  My class are Year 3, a range of 7 and 8 years 0ld.”                                      Miss Donna Craddock, Sir Alexander Fleming School, Sutton Hill, Telford  July 2017
